North Village EMPLOYMENT & LEADERSHIP
North Village offers a variety of employment and leadership opportunities to
students. Employment opportunities are volunteer-based positions (some do
with compensation). Whether you are interested in getting involved in Hall
Council, as a Resident Advisor, or you’d like to work over the summer as a
Conference Assistant, we have opportunities for you!

Hall Councils (HC)
Resident Advisor (RA)
Every residence hall has its own Hall Council at North Village
which folds under the RHA umbrella. Hall councils are a great
way to develop leadership skills and become involved within
the residence hall community. Hall Councils help coordinate
events, hold meetings and increase school spirit and pride.
Hall Councils also have voting rights within RHA. They provide
a valuable opportunity to develop leadership skills.
Resident Advisors (RAs) are student leaders who foster a supportive and
engaging community within our residence halls. RAs serve as mentors,
resources, and role models to residential students. RAs develop and execute
programs, connect one-on-one with residents, and help to ensure safety and
security in North Village. Additionally, RAs complete a variety of administrative
work, serve in an on-call duty rotation, attend weekly meetings, and more.
RAs play a critical role in the success of residential students.
Residence Hall Association (RHA)
National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)
RHA is the student government and student voice for over
2,500 residents living on-campus at North Village. RHA is
committed to developing leadership, honoring diversity, and
recognizing achievement, as well as stimulating engagement
and involvement among students who reside in the residence
halls. RHA coordinates a variety of open forums and events
throughout the year providing residents with opportunities to
engage intellectually and connect socially to their community.
National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is comprised of current and/
or residential members of the residential community here at Sacramento
State. NRHH programs develop leaders, serve as advocates, and promote
service and recognition within the residential community and beyond.
They also participate in regional events as a part of Pacific Affiliate of College
and University Residence Halls (PACURH) and nationally with the National
Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). NRHH
members help submit nominations and then awards the campus awards for
Of the Month (OTM) that can then go on to win regionally and nationally.
NRHH at Sacramento State is named the Hornet Chapter.
